to the Anamudi Peak (2,695 m), the highest in southern India, the hill town
of Munnar lies in the Kerala, at a point where the three mountain streams-
Mudrapuzha, Nallathani and Kunadala- happen to coalesce. The erstwhile
summer refuge of the British Government, Munnar is replete with expansive
tea plantations, picture-postcard landscapes, zigzagging alleys and a
pristine flora and fauna. Adventurers too have good options to feel that
adrenaline rush.
Climate & Best Time
Munnar relishes a pleasant climate. Summers are mild while winters are
cool. June to September is the monsoon time and the town experiences a good
amount of rainfall. Tourists can plan their trip to Munnar anytime of the
year. However, monsoons should be avoided.

Just 7 km from Munnar, it is site of exotic beauty and complete peace.

seekers. Heart-stirring waterfalls, verdant hills and adventure options like

» Eravikulam National Park

wildlife haven is one of the biggest attractions for visitors to Munnar.
Apart from other wildlife species, you will meet here with the friendliest
of animal species the Nilgiri Tahr. So, keep your cameras poised as
soon as you get there.
» Anamudi Peak
The peak stands in the southern region of the above mentioned national
park. The highest (2,695 m) in southern India, the peak also offers good
options for trekkers.

Getting There
The Cochin International Airport is just 4 and a half hours drive from
Munnar. The airport has regular flights connecting to various important
parts of the country and the world. The Ernakumal Railway Junction, 4 hours
drive from Munnar, is the closest railhead. By road, Munnar is easily
accessible from Madurai, Coimbatore and other key destinations of the
country.
