» Ghats of Varanasi
The ghats (river fronts) of Varanasi are the best place to experience the old world traditions as well as the cultural identity of the city. These ghats come alive early in the morning when the devotees gather to take a holy dip in the river and offer prayers in the temples located on the banks of Ganga.

» Durga Temple
One of the busiest temples in Varanasi, the Durga temple is located in the southern part of the city. The temple also finds mention in the ancient Hindu texts such as Puranas which describe Goddess Durga as the guardian of the city.

» Banaras Hindu University
Mostly referred to as BHU, the university was an important centre of independence movement and has gone on to become an important centre for learning. The university has produced many freedom fighters as well as other personalities that are regarded as the builder of the nation.

» Kashi Vishwanath Temple
One of the Jyotirlingas that symbolize Lord Shiva is installed here. It is also known as Golden temple as the the spire of the temple is gold plated. The temple was destroyed in an invasion and was rebuilt by Queen Ahilyabai of Indore.
